just left the staff at ASPD. Interesting.
Of course, he left the staff once before and then returned. (As I did, for that matter.)

A few months ago, it looked briefly like Caitie Mae might be returning — although she apparently changed her mind, as I haven’t seen a trace of her since early May.
Then earlier this month Alice/Rumor popped up on ASPD and asked to have provider status so she could post an ad — although nothing since then.
Now, Jenna is back (and looking as good as ever at the luncheon yesterday, by the way).
It has me wondering whether any of my other favorite ladies will be showing up soon. I think it’s highly unlikely that we’ll see Ashley Ash, Dayin Park, or Violet Star return . . . but then, I thought it was highly unlikely that we’d see Jenna again.

I read a blog post recently about dating and deception. (It also linked to another blog post about a particular “pickup technique.”)
Although I was never very good at the dating “game,” and would have felt silly trying most “techniques,” I found the topic an interesting one. As the author points out, there’s a point at which deception and manipulation are minor enough that few if any would find them very objectionable. You’re expected to make a special effort to look and act your best when dating, and as long as that’s not too big a difference from your normal appearance/behavior, there’s no significant harm. I suspect, though, there is a fair amount of the objectionable type of deception and manipulation in the dating world.
What about P4P?

I ran across a funny thread at TER — the type of thing that seems to bring out either the arrogance or the insecurity of P4P clients. The question was:
ladies – which type of hobbyist do you most frequently encounter? guys – which type are you?
And the poster set out a taxonomy:

P4P clients (not all, but many) sometimes have negative feelings about our participation. Remorse over how much money we spend on P4P that could be used for other things. (At times, it gets particularly out of control for some clients, including me when I first started.) Guilt over infidelity, or just guilt about P4P in general resulting from our socialization that impressed in our psyches at an early age that this is “wrong.” Fear of discovery. Perhaps occasionally even a bit of self-loathing mixed in with remorse, resulting from the inability to stop something that they think is bad for them. (Some clients really would like to stop but find it very difficult to do so.) And probably a few others here and there.
There’s nothing very surprising in that list, is there? There are negative aspects of P4P; we recognize and deal with them; we continue anyway, because the positive aspectss (or compulsion) are stronger.
Lately I’ve been wondering about another negative emotion that some clients may experience from P4P.

I ran across this statistic in last week’s New York Times Magazine:
3.5% of married survey respondents report having had a sexual relationship outside their marriage in the previous year.
No source given for that, but it seemed rather low. Based on a quick review, that may have been influenced greatly by “in the previous year.”

I recently read a post over on Sarah Summers’ blog that I wanted to share. As usual, her thoughts are an interesting window into P4P.
It started out with a nice description of a lady’s mindset while engaging in one of the most intimate of relationships; one of the better ways I’ve seen it expressed:

When I re-started my blog on WordPress, I left up my old blog on Geocities/Yahoo 360. Too lazy to manually move over more than a few entries here and there; there was no automated process to import the whole thing, at least that I could find. But I left the old blog there in case anyone wanted to look back at it, linked to it on my blogroll, and even linked to some specific entries on the old blog in new discussions here.
But apparently my old blog is no longer accessible at all. Some problem with a change to accounts/profiles? Luckily, there was now an automated process to download a blog from Yahoo 360 and then import it into WordPress. So that’s what I’ve done. The old entries are here, and they’re readable, along with the comments. However, two things that limit the usefulness:
Both of those will have to be done manually and might be very time-intensive. Not sure when I’ll get around to that. If ever.

Last year, I surveyed the results of the first year of this blog. I just looked again, and the results for the second year are pretty comparable, with some differences that I think don’t really mean what they appear to mean.
More participation in terms of comments (47% increase) and views (93% increase)? Well, generally that’s a good thing for a blog. But the explanation is almost entirely external and very limited in scope.
