over on Gillette’s blog, about whether women are attracted by looks first and are women “after the money”?
Check them out. Comments too — Gillette has a knack not only for expressing some very interesting thoughts and ideas but also for eliciting such from her readers.
She has another post from yesterday about sex work and feminism, but I will have to leave that for another day.

to the uncertainty described in that last post — whether a potential new playmate will be as much fun with my favorites/regulars — may be just to find opportunities to meet them face-to-face in advance. After all, a “connection” is something that generally happens in person; not as easy to develop in cyberspace, particularly if limited to her website or posted ads. (An active blog is different, because that not only shows the personality in more depth but also allows for more interaction.)

I have been known to complain about the decreasing number of available ladies I’m interested in seeing. (In my defense, I’m not the only one who does that. I know, not much of a defense.) Several years ago, Dallas seemed like a veritable cornucopia of very desirable ladies. Lately, the selection has seemed more limited.
Partly that may be because the demographics of the escort community are changing. As an illustration, I have a strong preference for the 30 – 45 age range . . . and a lot of the “new talent” seems to be significantly younger. An increasing percentage of the independent ladies seem to be Asian . . . which is fine, except that they usually have difficulty communicating in English, and I’m interested in the mental as well as the physical. Well, maybe some of it is the demographics changing and maybe some of it is my preferences changing. But lately I’ve been thinking there’s more to it than that, or the “decline in the talent pool” that some guys talk about. I think there are two additional factors involving my perception.

OK, so that no show from the other day has now officially been “cleared” — saw the lady today, everything went smoothly, and she offered a significant discount for the inconvenience the other day. Wouldn’t have asked for it, and would have given her another try without it, but I rarely turn down discount offers.
But this, along with a post by Deuce over on ASPD about the importance of reporting no shows — because she might be doing it a lot but if nobody reports it, nobody knows and the behavior continues — led to some more miscellaneous thoughts about no shows.

I discussed this several months ago, but it’s just come up again in a couple of (related) threads on ASPD, here and here. In short, Client sees Lady A. Client later wants to see Lady B and provides Lady A’s name as a “reference” to verify that he’s legit, not LE and not a problem client. Lady B calls Lady A to confirm. Lady A then contacts Client and suggests that he come see her. (In addition to, or instead of, Lady B?) Lady B is pissed.

This morning was a first for me — seeing an escort out in public (sort of). I’ve never visited her before, and don’t remember ever looking at her ads or website. But I think it was her, although I didn’t come to that conclusion until much later. Of course, even if I had realized it at the time, the standard rule applies: never talk to an escort as an escort out in public, even if it appears to be safe, as today did.

[Great scene from Notting Hill, by the way. Is that a "chick flick"? Well, I like chick flicks. My wife even got me to watch movie versions of several Jane Austen novels, which I found very fun. Still prefer the 1995 A&E version of Pride & Prejudice to the 2005 theatrical version with Keira Knightley, though. Anyway, yes, I'm a guy who enjoys chick flicks. And action movies starring Arnold Schwarzeneggar or Bruce Willis. I suppose that's a weird mixture. But I digress.]
I was thinking of the male fascination with breasts recently, partly after reading a comment about “big boobies” on a particularly delightful blog. (I would link it here, but I’m already blushing enough at some of her remarks.) There are a lot of guys for whom large breasts are almost a prerequisite in their choice of escorts to see. Perhaps I was as well at one time — getting old and experiencing memory loss is hell, isn’t it? — but not today. At least, I don’t think so. Certainly there are several ladies I enjoy visiting who are only a B-cup, and sometimes just barely that.

Before the Internet and review/discussion boards (or “message boards” for my cyber-friends in the U.K.), clients very rarely knew each other. We visited the ladies, and we knew they had other clients, but we knew nothing about those other clients.
Now we do — to a limited degree. By participating on the boards, I may come to know someone by their handle. Still don’t know their real name or much about their real life, but I develop a sense of their personality and see how others interact with them. I’ll know, for example, that this guy is a gentleman whom all the ladies love and this guy is a bit obsessive and a potential problem.

I just noticed that yesterday was the birthday of Judit Polgar, the strongest female chessplayer in the world and at one time in the top ten overall. Still in the top 20, despite the birth of her two children in 2004 and 2006. Exceptionally impressive results and a fascinating story. Her older sister is a former women’s world champion, is currently running for the Executive Board of the United States Chess Federation, and is the head of the Susan Polgar Institute for Chess Excellence (SPICE) at Texas Tech University. Chess in Lubbock, Texas???
Well, the Polgar family (including middle sister Sofia) is a fascinating story to many chessplayers. Probably not to anyone reading this blog.

I had an appointment tonight at 6:00, on my way home from work. I was looking forward to playtime; it had been way too long. :) We had last communicated mid-morning, but it was with a well-regarded lady I’d seen a couple of times before, so I didn’t anticipate a problem. Alas, I showed up, rang the doorbell a couple of times with no answer, walked back to my car and called, still no answer. So I drove home. Drat! Not sure if I’ll have another opportunity this week or not.
